This accessibility statement explains how well the Laurea Smart web service complies with the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, what shortcomings there are in the accessibility of the online service and how you can give us feedback on accessibility problems.
Laurea University of Applied Sciences is responsible for this online service. We want as many users as possible to be able to access our digital services. We take accessibility into account in the development of digital services.
How accessible is the online service?
This online service partly meets the A and AA level accessibility criteria required by law (WCAG criteria 2.1). The online service has some shortcomings in accessibility, which are described in more detail below.

Content or features that are not yet accessible
Language and images
- The English version has an incorrect language attribute. (WCAG 3.1.1)
- There are missing language markings missing on the site. (WCAG 3.1.2)
- Some images have a lacking or are missing an alternative text. (WCAG 1.1.1)
Using the service
- The page titles in the service are not always descriptive. (WCAG 2.4.2)
- The service is not fully responsive. (WCAG 1.4.10)
- Text does not always scale with the users’ settings. (WCAG 1.4.4)
- There are buttons, links, and other elements that have text that do not meet the contrast requirements. (WCAG 1.4.3)
- Some buttons do not meet the contrast requirements. (WCAG 1.4.11)
- Info-page has links that have the same text but no context. (WCAG 2.4.4)
- A keyboard user cannot change the language, select a payment method or use the site search suggestions. Adding or removing favourites is problematic. Site navigation when the content is zoomed is inaccessible. (WCAG 2.1.1 and 1.4.10).
- Site search results are not in a logic navigation order with a keyboard. (WCAG 2.4.3)
- When reordering available studies, the page refreshes when a user tries to select the correct setting. (WCAG 3.2.2)
- There are buttons and form elements with no name, value or role. (WCAG 4.1.2)
- When filtering and searching for studies, or when adding or removing studies from favourites, there are no status messages. (WCAG 4.1.3)
- The HTML code of the website does not fully meet the specification. (WCAG 4.1.1)
- The page contains elements, that are supposed to be hidden for all users, that can be perceived using a screen reader. (WCAG 1.3.1)
An effort will be made to correct the shortcomings listed in this statement by 31.10.2024.
