Enrolment and purchase

Enrolment for courses takes place in the online store. You must be logged in. You can add the desired courses to the shopping cart by clicking the “Add to cart” button on the course page. The contents of the shopping basket can be viewed on a computer via the shopping basket icon in the upper right corner of the browser or by clicking the “In the shopping basket” button on the course page after adding the course to the basket. On a mobile device, the shopping cart icon can be found at the bottom of the browser. If enrolment for the course is not in progress or the course is full, the product cannot be added to the shopping cart. However, you can order a reminder in your email in case there are vacancies or add the course to your favorites.

When you are satisfied with the contents of the shopping basket, you can proceed with the purchase process by clicking “Continue”. Fill in your information in the form to enrol. If you have enrolled for courses before, your information has been pre-filled in the form. However, you can change the information if necessary. On this page, you can also choose a payment method for paid courses. The order is confirmed by clicking “Confirm”, after which you will receive an order confirmation and further instructions to your e-mail.

As a business customer, you can buy courses for your staff by redeeming activation links, through which they can enrol for the course. You can choose how many seats you want to redeem on the course page. On the checkout page, you must fill in your company’s billing information and your own information. Here you can also define the validity period for the activation links (maximum one year) and whether the links are limited to work only for a certain email domain. Unclaimed links will not be refunded.

If you use a company account and want to enrol for the course yourself or redeem the activation link, you can click the “Enrol yourself” button in the shopping cart, which allows you to enrol as an individual. In this case, the number of courses in the shopping cart is automatically only one.

Prices and payment

In Laurea Smart, you can find both paid and free courses and study contents. You can pay for courses at the Open UAS either with a per-credit fee (15 €/credit) or with a semester fee (200€). The semester is 1.1.-31.7. in spring and 1.8.-31.12. in autumn. The pricing criteria for other studies vary by course.

Laurea Smart’s payments are mainly made via Paytrail. Select the payment method in the lower right corner of the checkout page and proceed according to the instructions given by the Paytrail module. Through the Paytrail service, you can pay with online banking credentials, credit cards (Visa & Mastercard), Apple Pay and mobile payments (MobilePay, Pivo, Siirto) as well as invoicing payment methods with OP Invoice, Walley and Alisa Yrityslasku. When the payment has gone through, the system will automatically redirect you to the order confirmation page, where you can continue browsing.

If the total amount of your purchases exceeds 5,000 euros, the amount exceeds Paytrail’s credit limit and Laurea’s financial service handles the invoicing. The system automatically informs you of this, and the payment method module does not appear. When you click “Confirm” (or “Send order” as a business customer), you confirm the order and agree to pay the invoice or follow the cancellation conditions. You will receive an invoice by e-mail within two weeks.

If your order does not have paid courses, the Paytrail module will not appear and you can confirm your order free of charge.
