Some of the courses may have prerequisite requirements, which are mentioned in the course information. For example, the prerequisite for studies for a Masters degree courses is a Bachelor’s degree or similar competence. Laurea’s degree students cannot register as students of the Open UAS of their own university of applied sciences.
In Laurea’s Open UAS, the courses are mainly from all Laurea’s Bachelor and Master degree programmes. All courses at the Open UAS are in content and level of requirements in accordance with the degree requirements, so the studies completed at Laurea’s Open UAS can be accepted as part of the degree at Laurea later.
The individual courses of the Open UAS are 1-10 credits and have different implementation methods:
- Scheduled online study : the course is conducted online, but includes participation online.
- Independent online study : the course is completed independently and at your own pace online within the course implementation time.
- Studying at campus : the course is taught on campus.
In the Open UAS course offering, there are also micro-courses, which are short online courses, podcasts, and videos that are less than 1 credit.
One credit corresponds to approx. 27 hours of work, so we recommend completing a maximum of 30 credits per semester.
