
Path to entrepreneurship for immigrants project supports immigrants who are interested in becoming an entrepreneur, who want to become self-employed and/or who want to find a job. The project focuses especially in sectors that suffer from labour shortages or are facing changes. The target sectors in the project are construction, ICT, and the service sector, especially social services and health care. The project partners are Laurea University of Applied Sciences and Espoo Regional Enterprise Agency. The project received a special grant from the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres) for the years 2024-2025.
Enroll to courses in Laurea University of Applied Sciences
Laurea offers Bachelor and Master level courses in the open university of applied sciences in both English and Finnish. You can enroll to these courses by registering to Laurea Smart. You will also receive ECTS points the you can later include in your degree, if you decide to pursue one. Open University courses are open to all those interested in studying, regardless of educational background or age requirements. The free online courses can be studied at your own pace.
Free micro-courses
Laurea’s micro-courses focus on specific topics and can be studied anywhere, anytime without registration to Laurea Smart. The content includes videos, podcasts, blogs and short interactive courses. These micro-courses will not give you ECTS points, but will give you useful information and tips on topics you’re interested in.
