This course is divided in three parts:
Part 1: Sexuality
- Test your knowledge: Concepts of sexual health
- Assignment: Sexuality
Part 2: Sexual and reproductive health
- Sexual and reproductive health assignments are completed independently. The assignments will not be evaluated or commented on separately.
- Exam: Sexual and reproductive health
Part 3: Pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum
- Introduction and discussion
- Test your knowledge: The normal course and monitoring of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum
During this course you will learn to
- apply your knowledge of anatomy and physiology while promoting sexual and reproductive health
- analyse the significance of sexual and gender diversity in their work
- apply research data and recommendations when identifying factors affecting sexual and reproductive health when justifying methods for supporting them
- recognise the patient’s need for guidance for sexuality in connection to illnesses and crisis
- discuss sexuality related issues with patient and their significant others
- promote sexual guidance as part of nurse’s work
- describe the most common gynecological illnesses and their related investigations, provided care and follow-up.
- describe and explain the normal course and monitoring of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum
- describe and justify the most common examinations and methods of nursing care during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum
- describe the principles of maternal, new-born and family care after childbirth

During this course you will develop your skills with sexual and reproductive health.
- The study is carried out partly independently, taking into account the schedule for task submissions / by the deadline.
- The course includes scheduled online instruction and guidance (via Zoom) on May 15, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
- The study requires self-directedness.
- Two workshops with mandatory attendance.
- You will be studying in the learning environment built on Canvas, which includes study materials, assignments, and tests. Personal feedback will not be provided for assignments; feedback is based on checking the correctness of tasks or sharing model answers after the task submission.
- The schedule and implementation description of the course will be updated at the beginning of the studies.

Students must be present in the first contact session or notify their teacher in charge if they cannot attend. If they fail to notify the teacher of their absence in the first contact session, their enrollment will be rejected. Another student in the queue may be enrolled in the course in the place of the absent student. In the case of online studies the lecturer can also specify some other way than participation on an online meeting what is required from the student so that he/she verifies his/her attendance on the study unit. A student who has not confirmed their participation as described above will be removed from the Canvas learning environment on May 22, 2024.
The scope of the course is 3 credits, which means 81 hours of student’s workload. Contact teaching 10h and independent work 70h.
