How to activate your user account

You need a Laurea user account to access the systems used in the course. When you enrol for a course, you will receive an email to activate your user account.

How to determine which activation method applies to you:

  • If you have a Finnish social security number and a personal Finnish Bank user ID, you should use that to activate your Laurea user account.
  • If you do not have Finnish bank user ID and Finnish social security number, you may be able to use either Finnish Authenticator or eIDAS to activate your Laurea user account.
  • If you are not able to use any of the electronic self-service authentication methods, you should check out the instructions for using a one-time password.

The user account has three (3) letters and five (5) numbers, for example abc12345. When logging into Laurea’s systems, the following format is used for the user account: username@laurea.fi. The user account is different from Laurea’s student email and the user account cannot be used as an email address.

Important notes regarding the user account

Registering a user account in Laurea’s systems may take a few hours after registering for the training or confirming the purchase. In addition, note the following.

  • If you have a valid Laurea user account from previous studies, check your valid username in the IAM portal.
  • You log in to Laurea’s systems with your username(s)laurea.fi and the password you have created.
  • A username is different from Laurea’s student email and cannot be used as an email address.
  • For data security reasons, Laurea cannot activate user accounts on behalf of someone else.
  • You can always check your credentials by logging in to the IAM Portal or change your password through the Portal.
